About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager comfortable working in an agile environment to be accountable for the replacement of a large Insurance change programme. 

The Insurance Programme will deliver the Target Insurance Operating Model and transition and migrate the MO insurance proposition from RSA (Royal Sun Alliance) to DLG (Direct Line Group). The project will:
  • Transition the MO insurance proposition to DLG, minimising customer and business disruption.
  • Develop a business model that supports partnership and innovation and that encourages the proactive identification and delivery of solutions that support the future needs of the customer
  • Deliver innovation through the set-up of an agile operational model supporting digital, operational, and propositional change
  • Ensure the delivery of a Value for Money proposition through indemnity and expense savings 
  • Support the delivery of modernised claims and policy systems to enable digital insurance capabilities
  • Refine and introduce supply chain processes to support the MO customer experience and value 
The role
This role requires working closely with key stakeholders, including the business, project and programme managers, development teams and 3rd parties to ensure successful delivery of the Insurance Programme.

You will ensure that the programme and its work-streams are effective and adhere to governance and reporting requirements, and that it delivers in line with the plan, budget and scope agreed.

This is an opportunity for someone with passion and drive to successfully implement the transition to DLG and embed an enduring operational model. 
  • Accountable for running the Insurance Programme to agreed timelines and budget, managing resources, coordinating activity, ensuring appropriate project governance and communication, and managing project scope and risks.
  • ‘Hands on’ and detailed programme and project planning, taking multiple constraints into account (e.g. dependencies, prioritisation, resources, technical, strategic direction, external resources, programme timelines, etc.)
  • Oversee and coordinate multiple streams of work delivering different products in an agile manner in support of the overall decommissioning objective
  • Provide guidance and support to a network of project managers to ensure an overall successful delivery
  • Support the incremental go-live events ensuring successful transitions that manage programme and business risk
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and internal groups including 3rd party partners, and oversee a large team of internal and 3rd party resources, being the point of escalation for any challenges
  • Ensure the teams are engaged in the delivery through regular communication and sharing of information, considering the additional requirements of the current remote working
  • Assist in the recruitment and on boarding of any appropriate resources
  • Participate and provide input to ensure that requirements, recommendations, and constraints are captured, understood and considered.
  • Ensuring adherence to processes and governance models, risk, and issue management
  • Facilitate the effective transfer from delivery programme to enduring operational support model and team(s)
About You

  • Insurance Knowledge and Ability 
    o Insurance industry experience particularly retail motor insurance
    o Ability to understand business concepts and requirements
    o Leverage experience and best practice in shaping the future insurance proposition 
    o Given an objective is very capable of developing a plan and approach in order to achieve success
    o Ability to produce high quality document artefacts and deliverables
    o Able to handle ambiguity and evolving requirements
  • Strong Organisation and Planning skills
    o Project Planning – developing estimates, project plans, prioritise activities and reporting
    o Disciplined, structured approach & methodology
    o Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously while continuing to deliver
    o Enjoys solving problems and getting into the detail when required to manage the delivery and address challenges
  • Excellent people and Leadership skills. 
    o Lead by example; act as a mentor, motivating team members with focus on service excellence
    o A team player; collaborative, supportive and understanding
    o Ability to take both a strategic and hands on approach, pragmatic
    o Self-motivated & able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
     
Minimum Criteria
  • Programme Management of large complex Insurance transitions and software delivery programmes 
  • Developing and managing multiple complex projects, their deliverables, milestones, budget and resource
  • Evidence of working with matrixed teams to agree, build and deliver new technology solutions
  • Experience in managing large change programmes leading/managing multiple teams
  • Working with 3rd party providers integrated into delivery teams
  • Business change and communications experience
