About The Role

Motability Operations are currently recruiting for a Digital Content Editor to join our Marketing team in London on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working closely with our current marketing team of 5, your role will be to manage and oversee the migration of our website, motability.co uk, from our existing content management system, UCM, onto our new system, Sitecore. You will have the interesting responsibility of ensuring that the website and the information held within it continues to be accurate, correct and engaging during and after this migration period.

As the expert for motability.co.uk, your role will involve a range of tasks from updating copy, image resizing/cropping and even a small amount of HTML programming when needed. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in SEO (search engine optimization) tasks; ensuring all our pages are easily reachable by search engines along with analytics to monitor how effective our website is.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with a range of stakeholders across the business to publish their material, which could be our Annual Financial Report for our finance team, some business-related news from our HR department or even new, engaging videos from our customer facing teams to be shared online.

Day-to-day, your role will involve:

Website Management & digital editor

  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of Motabilty.co.uk and Motabilityoperations.co.uk with a view to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction for end users.
  • Using the content management platform to upload and update web content, ensuring that user journeys are optimised
  • Responsible for all BAU activity on the website and digital support. Act as the initial contact for all queries related to the website (technical and content).
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate action /response is initiated for all the feedback received from internal and external sources
  • Work with content experts to ensure web content is consistent and on-brand.
  • Be recognised as the website expert within the company, with a brief to engage the whole team with the digital content strategy and its execution.
  • As we transition to new platform, be the subject matter expert for defining requirements for digital author role and ensuring we make the most of the new platform.


  • Review and prepare regular analytics reports across digital properties, using all available analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) to measure the performance of digital properties, especially recent enhancements.
  • Keep track of SEO performance and updates to ensure that the websites are optimised for SEO.

Project Support

  • Assist the web product owner and technical delivery teams to suggest, test and deliver improvements to the site and enhance key user journeys
  • Be part of the team that will be responsible for managing the convergence during the phasing out of the legacy system and releasing new technologies.
About You

To be successful in the role, we’re looking for someone who is customer-centric and naturally inclined to put customers at the centre of development to meet their needs. You will enjoy solving their problems and always looking to improve the overall customer experience.

You should enjoy working with multiple business stakeholders, developing, and maintaining strong relationships to ensure that you fully understand key departmental objectives, as well as the overarching business strategy. It’s important that you’re a strong communicator who can build and manage relationships as you will be working across the entire company.

You should be passionate about digital and will use data to support informed decision-making at all levels, using technology to find efficient ways to solve problems.

Minimum criteria:

  • Good working knowledge of at least one CMS platform
  • Understanding of technicalities on web platforms
  • Good understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Excellent grasp of English for copywriting, copy editing and proofreading
  • Passionate about digital technology with a desire to keep on top of new technologies and share these best practices with the overall team
  • Comfortable balancing diverse ad hoc tasks with detailed long-running projects
  • Strong oral and interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of the organisation


  • Experience with SEO
  • Experience with image editing software, e.g., Photoshop
  • Familiar with agile ways of working
  • Knowledge of internet infrastructure e.g., https, server status codes, DNS etc.
