About The Role
The Market Risk Team is part of Asset Risk and seeks to ensure the financial sustainability of the scheme by maximising the accuracy of our forecasts for future used car values, and service, maintenance, and repair costs. These forecasts will have a material and direct impact on customer pricing, capital reserves, and the financial accounts. You will be reporting directly into the Market Risk Manager.

Alongside this, you will be engaged in supporting a large-scale project upgrading our systems and analytical tools. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver in-depth analysis of the UK economy and factors influencing the car industry
  • Support the Asset Risk Data Project – transitioning to upgraded systems and analytical tools
  • Create, develop, and maintain a variety of models, visualisations, and reports 
  • Challenge forecast assumptions and ideas, clearly articulating your insights to stakeholders
  • Be proactive in driving the continuous improvement of our forecasting approach
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
About You

  • Drives efficiency and likes to optimise business and data processes
  • Can be both creative and logical in your approach
Minimum Criteria
  • Graduate in a discipline which demonstrates strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proven understanding of core economic principles, the business environment, and statistics
  • Experience working with data: analysis, visualisation, modelling, and/or process engineering
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Core technical skills: Intermediate SQL and Excel, familiar with VBA/Macros
  • Has a keen interest in the UK Automotive Industry as well as the UK macroeconomy
A combination of the below would be desirable:
  • Experience of dashboard creation, automation, and best practice
  • An understanding of appropriate statistical methods for risk analysis and forecasting
  • Modelling skills: Econometrics, Forecasting, Analytics and/or Machine Learning
  • Technical Skills: Python, Tableau & Tableau Prep, Snowflake, Oracle tools (OBIEE/OAS)
  • Confident at understanding technical concepts translating them for non-technical audiences
  • Has knowledge of or a keen interest in Model Risk Management and Data Governance
