About The Role
Work with a great technical agile team building a new digital platform to extend our ecommerce system that sells over 1000 vehicles a day.
 
This new cloud based platform will utilise many of the latest technologies, predominantly open source, and we are rapidly moving towards continuous delivery.

Are you agile & business value focused, with a passion for technology and continuous delivery who would like to work alongside other like-minded high performing individuals, building software solutions for our business using latest technologies and collaborative ways of working?

You will be able to demonstrate excellent core java knowledge as well as software design skills.

You will ideally have recent experience in JavaScript / modern web frameworks, Spring Boot, Microservices and continuous delivery techniques OR have a strong interest in learning these technologies and want to use these on commercial projects.

Our tech stack currently includes ReactJS, Spring Boot, Microservices, Node.js, Mongo, Postgres, AWS, Docker, Kubernates, OpenShift and Jenkins.

If you have a passion for agile and continuous delivery approaches; have a depth of experience in Java development and are pragmatic regarding work and business needs, then this may be the role for you.

About You

You will have the following skills/experience:

  • Strong Java background
  • Experience developing with Java based frameworks and technologies such as Spring, Spring Boot, JEE
  • Experience developing RESTful web services
  • Agile development background
  • Experience of testing automation and tools
  • Exposure to common development tools
  • Experience working with SQL databases
  • Professional presence and effective communicator
  • A self-starter with strong collaborative skills
  • Excellent overall knowledge of a broad range of technology, including following industry and technology trends

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of micro services architectures
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (e.g. JavaScript, JQuery, Node, React, CSS, JSON, etc.)
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of functional test frameworks and tools
  • Experience working with NOSQL databases
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian tool suite including JIRA, Bamboo, Confluence, Fisheye & Crucible
  • Advocate of development best practices, including Continuous Integration, TDD, BDD, clean code, pair programming.
