About The Role
The role sits within an expanding team that has established itself as the trusted advisor to the organisation. The organisation is undertaking critical cloud and digital transformation programmes with cyber security at the top of the agenda.

The role is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly skilled and passionate team, leading technologies, best practice frameworks and partners. In this role you will be responsible for actively protecting critical data, the perimeter, networks and applications and business operations.

Assist with expanding security monitoring across the entire infrastructure spectrum and critical applications covering tool deployment, operational runbooks, effective detection, reporting and metrics.

Engage with outsourced security operations service providers and assist with the management and tailoring of their service. The service providers cover technologies, such as Anti-DDoS, Intrusion Detection, Penetration Testing and Security Monitoring.
Role responsibilities include:
Security Monitoring
  • Identify, analyse, investigate, follow-up and resolve alerts on cyber threats and potential incidents
  • Collaborate with multiple teams, investigate root causes and make recommendations
  • Develop a deep understanding of existing technologies and help adopt new tools in order to continuously improve security monitoring, e.g. SIEM, Anti-DDoS, IDS, Pentesting, Wireshark, Nmap, BurpSuite, AWS Guardduty
Vulnerability Management
  • Identify vulnerabilities and maintain/improve the configuration of the vulnerability scanning toolset
  • Analyse vulnerabilities, suggest remediation options and work with system owners to implement agreed actions
  • Track vulnerability status on a regular basis and report to key stakeholders
Security Testing
  • Engage leading pentesting firms to perform security testing of applications and networks
  • Interpret results and communicate remediation actions to system owners
  • Perform basic security testing and write-up reports for stakeholders
  • Assist in maintaining the resiliency of IT operations and IT infrastructure
  • Advise on designing resilience into solutions from the outset
  • Ensure recovery plans are in place, tested and accurate
Technical Advisory
  • Provide best practices approaches for implementing cloud security controls and architecture for established cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google) and SaaS offerings
  • Provide best practice on implementing container security controls and orchestration
  • Provide best practice for embedding security controls into DevOps and secure development practices across multiple teams and CI/CD pipelines
About You
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about cyber security, resilience, protecting customer data and forging relationships with IT teams.

The ideal candidate has a thirst for knowledge, attention to detail and a determination to deliver quality results.
You will have gained the following mandatory experience:
  • Education or Experience in Cyber Security
  • Certifications or degrees in Information Security or Computer Science are of advantage but not essential
  • Good understanding of network technologies, application security and security principles
