About The Role
Reporting into the Head of IT Architecture, the Enterprise Architect will lead the Business Systems contribution to the annual strategy round and MO long term strategy; and define and evolve the IT Roadmap to align to strategic business objectives 

In the IT Architecture team, we ensure that IT programmes; projects; and initiatives are designed and developed to align with the Enterprise Architecture and adopt appropriate standards and technologies.  We own the adoption; definition; and maintenance of reference architectures to support standardised implementation and provide independent technical research and consultancy as appropriate to promote industry best practice.

Working closely with heads of function; programme managers; technical disciplines; and programme sponsors you will have overall responsibility for developing and maintaining the enterprise architecture within MO.
About You
You will have gained the following experience/skills:
  • You love working with internal customers to understand their requirements and priorities 
  • You have experience of communicating technical issues effectively to multiple disciplines within IT and the wider business
  • You enjoy keeping up with the latest technologies and use this knowledge to constantly review existing architecture, processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement and efficiency
  • You will need to be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and within a team environment
  • You’ll have a good understanding of the issues involved in project development, the language of project managers and, therefore, the ability to engage with the project managers in the deployment of the architecture in a pragmatic way
  • You will have the desire to collaborate to deliver results, and to resolve conflicts expediently with an independent and objective approach
  • You will have an interest in analysing complex problems and identifying appropriate solutions and options to address them 
 
As a minimum for this role, you will need to have experience in the full project development life cycle; a proven track record, with demonstrable experience in a role of similar responsibility and scale; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; and a solid technology background.
