About The Role
6 months contract, Inside IR35
This role provides business analysis capability within the Digital Infrastructure Strategy Programme

This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced BA who has worked with technical and delivery teams and has a keen interest in technology.

The role will report into the Business Analyst Team, but with direct daily oversight from Infrastructure Project Managers.

Motability Operations’ Digital Infrastructure Programme is in the process of adopting key technologies to support business efficient and customer service objectives by providing responsive platforms and infrastructure solutions. We are adopting a ‘Cloud First’ approach using Infrastructure-As-Code as the vehicle to deliver these solutions.

Example initiatives include; development of Cloud Network infrastructure, AWS Platform Development, Building Cloud Native Common Services, building and improving Container and Non-Container Platforms.

Key accountabilities
As a Business Analyst on this team, you will help to define the features for the platform. To do this, you will work closely with Product Owners, Technical Owners, Third-Party Vendors and Engineers within and outside of the team. You will encourage collaboration between various technical specialists, programme leads and heads of business to incorporate priorities. We are looking for a clear communicator who can understand value in the delivery of the Digital Infrastructure workstreams and has the capability to recognise and translate technical workstreams against business objectives.

You will recognise blockers and facilitate discussions where necessary. With the information you have acquired, you will build and prioritise the platform backlog together with the tech lead.

We expect that much of the time spent on the projects, you will:
  • Analyse stakeholders, their needs and expectations.
  • Partner technical stakeholders and other teams to define business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide traceability of solution delivery back to the essential aims and needs within the agreed scope of an initiative.
  • Raise tickets and specifications to enable commissioning design and delivery work.
  • Brief suppliers, engineering, development and QE teams on requirements to ensure common understanding.
  • Play a role in diagnosing problems and update solution documentation as required.
  • Support implementation of key initiatives with documentation and roll out of operational and support processes.
  • Author training and support documentation as required.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst who has demonstrable experience of working both independently and as a member of an established team. We would expect you to want to understand how changes and solutions impact stakeholder operations, resourcing and processes. You should enjoy working with technology, data and systems and can understand how these might be employed by the business community. You must be able to demonstrate how business analysis is executed effectively from the moment of engagement through to delivery of a solution that meets our stakeholders’ needs.

We value individuals who are self-starters and highly motivated, can communicate clearly, understand business needs and balance that against the team’s pace and the urgency to get things done. We would expect you to highlight risk effectively, improve processes and contribute to all the team’s ceremonies.

Ideally you have at least two years’ experience as a BA on Infrastructure Delivery projects and should have practical knowledge of Infrastructure and how to get the best out of teams working with the Agile methodologies. Experience of working on Cloud Computing is desirable but not essential. You will have proven experience working closely with engineers, developers and testers in a technical environment and be proficient at writing technical stories and defining non-functional requirements.

We value individuals who are self starters and highly motivated, can communicate clearly, understand business needs and balance that against the team’s pace and the urgency to get things done.
