About The Role
Reporting into the Architecture Manager, the key responsibility of this role will be providing architecture support for the delivery of the Sustainability and Security (S&S) programme. 

Working closely with the IT teams, 3rd party suppliers, procurement, service transition and other business areas, you will have responsibility for:
  • Delivering solution architectures for a range of S&S projects e.g. from upgrading Oracle services to implementing new security tools in both on-premise and AWS environments
  • Provide technical leadership across projects delivered by the Programme
  • Supporting the planning process by identifying services and applications approaching end-of-life and proposing new projects
  • Managing the architecture toolset and the service catalogue to ensure that new services and applications are captured correctly, and that the toolset meets the requirements of other stakeholders such as security and business planning
  • Supporting the business in the selection and implementation of new services and tools that fall outside the S&S Programme
About You
You will have gained the following experience/skills:
  • You love working with internal customers to understand their requirements and priorities
  • You have experience of communicating technical issues effectively to multiple disciplines within IT and the wider business 
  • You’ll have a good understanding of the issues involved in project development, the ability to engage with the project managers in the deployment of the architecture in a pragmatic way
  • You will have experience of resolving design conflicts working with SMEs, third parties and managers to agree solutions
  • You will have a broad technical background and are familiar with the following technologies, plus experience of solution architecture for some if not all of the following:
    o Oracle: Databases, MI services and Identity and Access Management
    o Microsoft: 365 suite, Azure, Windows Server and Desktop
    o Linux O/S
    o IT security technologies and toolsets
  • You will be familiar with the services within the Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 plans including the Threat Management and Information Protection stack.
  • You will have previously been involved in the design and adoption and governance of Microsoft Teams including collaboration, chat and video conferencing within an organisation of a similar size
  • You will have experience in other areas of the Microsoft 365 stack, in particular:
    o SharePoint for team collaboration and intranet resources
    o OneDrive
    o Azure Files
    o Outlook / Exchange 
  • You will be familiar with implementing Microsoft 365 services on employee’s devices (BYOD)
  • You have a good understanding and experience of networking requirements to support remote working from both company and personal devices
  • You enjoy keeping up with the latest technologies and use this knowledge to constantly review existing architecture, processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement and efficiency
  • You will need to be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and within a team environment 
Minimium Criteria
You will have a broad technical background and have experience of solution architecture for some if not all of the following:
  • Oracle: Databases, MI services and Identity and Access Management
  • Microsoft: 365 suite, Azure, Windows Server and Desktop
  • IT security technologies and toolsets
You should also have experience of the full project development life cycle, a proven track record in a role of similar scale and the ability to work closely with both business & IT Users.

Being able to effectively communicate to different audiences is a core requirement for the role. You must be able to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in written documents and to present these coherently and logically.

Architects must be able to make good decisions. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to analyse complex problems and identify appropriate solutions to address these.
