Bristol
About The Role
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Team Manager, this role will be central to designing and developing digital products and services that are easy to use and delightful to interact with.

You will be working with development staff, non-technical colleagues and agencies to develop new, and improve existing, products and services in the Vehicle Remarketing Division of Motability Operations.

This hands-on role is instrumental in enhancing the experience of our customers and users across all touchpoints, and you will be key to making sure our users find value in what we deliver.

You’ll work with members of the VRM team and selected agencies, running point on all phases of design process including research, ideation, prototyping, testing and measurement.

About You
This role is perfect for you if:

You’re passionate about making a real difference to the mfldirect user experience and making genuine change to help shape the future of our online offering.

You know how to manage and develop your design process and enjoy tailoring it to deliver specific projects.

You take a collaborative approach to design. You love to work with all members of the team across the design process and facilitate opportunities to challenge ideas constructively in order to devise and implement the team’s innovative potential design solutions.

You’re passionate about really understanding the people we’re designing for and you’re great at creating opportunities to share that understanding with others. You’re comfortable planning and running sessions with customers and users and know how to uncover insights in different contexts to help improve our products and services. You’re a champion for, and the voice of, our users when they can’t be with us.

You’re all about the qualitative research, but you really know the value of a data-driven approach to decision making. You blend your skills in interpreting analytics with your experience of user research methodology to deliver meaningful and actionable insight, which you use to advise product owners on the best approach to take with their products & services.

You’re comfortable starting with lo-fi designs and know how to move quickly through to high fidelity prototyping at the right time. You have the confidence to iterate quickly to develop the best ideas, whilst not losing sight of your project goals.

You have the user at your heart, and you know how to balance their needs with the needs of the business, all whilst keeping in mind the technical constraints which you’re working within.

You believe in outcomes over outputs. Sure, you use your skills to help create great designs but more than that, you know how to discover and understand the changes we’re trying to make for the business, and you help create products and services which successfully generate those changes. You work closely with the team to know the outcomes we’ll measure, and how we’ll measure them.

You’re a great communicator who can work with technical experts, development teams and non-technical members of the team to plan and execute user research and internal workshops. You are comfortable working externally and conducting direct interviews with customers.

About The Company
The Digital Marketing team is part of the Vehicle Remarketing Division (VRM); the division of Motability Operations that is responsible for supplying the UK’s largest fleet of business-to-business cars. We sell over 250,000 cars a year, with 80% of these through our two mfldirect websites (mfldirect and mfldirectAuction) and 20% through traditional auction centres, which makes us the single largest supplier of vehicles back into the used car market.

We are a small, high-performing team of professionals with skill sets across business development, marketing communications, analysis & performance measurement, UX and campaign delivery. We work closely with the Digital Development team, key stakeholders across the business and our agencies to deliver projects, services and applications.

We work closely with numerous third-party agencies as well as departments across VRM and the business to deliver websites, applications and marketing solutions to VRM to enhance the digital services offered to our dealers, improve internal efficiencies and produce effective marketing campaigns that drive engagement with mfldirect and our supporting offerings.

The team itself is a cross-functional team of development, marketing and project management. We are high-performing, supportive and empathetic. We push ourselves to deliver high-quality work at pace, but also enjoy socialising (Covid-permitting!), with events or evenings outside of work.
