About The Role
The role will sit within the Economic Capital (EC) Team within the Risk Division of Motability Operations, responsible for operating and developing the internal Economic Capital model. 

Reporting into the Economic Capital Manager, key responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for processing the data and modelling updates for the Residual Value and vehicle maintenance risk models, ensuring the data quality and credibility of outputs with Asset Risk and the wider EC Team
  • Operate the overarching EC model and work with Management to interpret and present the outputs and how they relate to MO’s reserving process
  • Coordinate the updating of the Credit/Treasury and Operational Risk capital models, ensuring inputs and outputs are managed and agreed with the wider business functions including Treasury, Finance & Business Risk
  • Provide key analytical support for the development and understanding of the EC models using a range of analytical tools, e.g. Tableau, Python and Tyche
  • Support the wider EC modelling requirements associated with capital buffers
  • Manage wider business relationships to maintain a detailed understanding of processes and context for modelled risks and the overall MO Business model
  • Proactively contribute to the management of the model risk and the enduring monitoring and development of the EC models in line with agreed governance
  • Ensure all model documentation is up to date
  • Present to senior stakeholders ensuring the model risk, technicalities and impact of change are fully understood
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships including external parties involved in development or validation of EC models
About You
You will have gained the following experience/skills:
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in a quantitative subject, e.g. mathematics, statistics, econometrics, mathematics or relevant subject.
  • Excellent technical skills (e.g. Tyche, Python, VBA) with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience working with economic capital, capital modelling and risk methodologies in a financial institution highly beneficial 
  • Ideally familiar with regulatory capital requirements
  • Strong communication and excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Positive attitude who wants to play a key role in a changing environment
